 103.  Deputy John McGuinness Information on John McGuinness Zoom on John McGuinness  asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Information on Brendan Howlin Zoom on Brendan Howlin  further to Parliamentary Question No. 282 of 28 February 2012, if he will confirm the actual savings that were achieved in the first 12 months of operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform (Deputy Brendan Howlin): Information on Brendan Howlin Zoom on Brendan Howlin While my Department does not maintain a formal record of the travel costs for each Minister it is however estimated that the average cost of providing transport to individual Officeholders has been reduced from €280,000 in 2010 to a current annual estimate of €100,000 per annum. This represents a 65% saving on the previous transport system in place.
