 307.  Deputy Pat Deering Information on Patrick Deering Zoom on Patrick Deering  asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Information on Leo Varadkar Zoom on Leo Varadkar  the qualifications required to become a driving tester or examiner; and if it is normal that a driver should go for their retest with the same tester and on both occasions be accompanied by the same inspector. [3162/12]

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport (Deputy Leo Varadkar): Information on Leo Varadkar Zoom on Leo Varadkar Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006 (Conferral of Functions) Order 2006 (S.I. No. 477 of 2006), driver testing is a matter for the Road Safety Authority, and I have referred the Deputy’s question to them for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a reply has not been received within ten days.
