 260. Mr. R. Bruton Information on Richard Bruton Zoom on Richard Bruton  asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs Information on Mary Coughlan Zoom on Mary Coughlan  the projected surplus in the social insurance account in 2002; the forecast surplus for 2003; and if she will indicate the amount of transfers from the fund's surplus in 2002 and the projected value for 2003. Minister for Social and Family Affairs (Mary Coughlan): Information on Mary Coughlan Zoom on Mary Coughlan The projected cumulative surplus in [1616]the Social Insurance Fund, SIF, at the end of 2002 is €1,277 million, while the corresponding forecast figure for the end of 2003 is €1,525 million. The transfer from the SIF surplus to the Exchequer in 2002 is €635 million. There is no provision for a transfer from the SIF to the Exchequer in 2003.
