 67. Mr. Eamon Ryan Information on Eamon Ryan Zoom on Eamon Ryan  asked the Minister for Education and Science Information on Noel Dempsey Zoom on Noel Dempsey  the reason fourth year students at Dublin City University were repeatedly told that a subject called science and society was non-examinable, although files obtained under Freedom of Information indicate that management knew all along it was examinable. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey): Information on Noel Dempsey Zoom on Noel Dempsey I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 70 together.

As the Deputy is aware, the Universities Act, 1997 confers autonomous statutory responsibilities on universities in relation to the day-to-day management of their affairs. I have no information in relation to the issue raised by the Deputy.
