[23214/02]

Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs (Éamon Ó Cuív): Information on Éamon Ó Cuív Zoom on Éamon Ó Cuív I take it the Deputy is referring to Gaeltacht islands. Grants for new houses under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts will continue to be paid in Gaeltacht areas, including Gaeltacht islands. The grant, which is €5,100 in mainland Gaeltacht areas and €15,300 on Gaeltacht islands, is paid to qualified applicants who speak Irish as the normal language of their household.

An information leaflet on the grants available under the Acts will be forwarded to the Deputy.
