[23388/02]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Mr. T. O'Malley): Information on Tim O'Malley Zoom on Tim O'Malley I understand that a reply has issued to the individual in question. The issues raised in the correspondence dealt with the availability of nursing services to meet the needs of a child due to attend a special school. The school in question was informed by the South-Eastern Health Board in June 2002 that funding for a school nurse would be available from September 2002. The recruitment and appointment of the nurse is a matter for the school. The board has increased the level of home support available to the family in question until such time as the child commences school.
