 160. Mr. R. Bruton Information on Richard Bruton Zoom on Richard Bruton  asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Information on Mary Harney Zoom on Mary Harney  the arrangements made in sheltered employment settings regarding the rate of hourly payment; if the provisions of minimum wage apply in this case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Ms Harney): Information on Mary Harney Zoom on Mary Harney My Department, through FÁS, currently provides wage supports to seven enterprises which employ people with disabilities in sheltered settings. Arrangements regarding the hourly rate of pay for the employees are a matter for the enterprises concerned. However, all employees supported by my Department in those enterprises receive wages [194] which comply with the National Minimum Wage Act, 2000.
