[18676/02]

Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs (Éamon Ó Cuív): Information on Éamon Ó Cuív Zoom on Éamon Ó Cuív I propose to take Questions Nos. 184 and 186 together.

I have commissioned the National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis at NUI, Maynooth to analyse the 2002 population census data to assist me in reviewing the CLÁR areas. The agreed programme for Government contains a commitment to review the census data and con[1242] sider additional areas for inclusion. I expect that the review will be completed by the end of 2002 and the outcome will be made available to Dáil Éireann. The amount of CLÁR direct funding committed to date by my Department to the CLÁR areas in County Kerry is €1.27 million. This has attracted additional expenditure through matching funding from various sources.
