[10357/02]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Information on Micheál Martin Zoom on Micheál Martin The Department of Health and Children does not directly fund voluntary organisations. A proposal [851] from the organisation was received in my Department last year and was forwarded to the South Eastern Health Board for consideration. I have had inquiries made of the South Eastern Health Board and I am informed that the board has had discussions with the organisation and, unfortunately, has indicated that it would be unable to support the proposal as submitted by the organisation, due to the scale of the project. However, the board did indicate that it may enter into discussions with the organisation on renting accommodation within the facility to provide outreach addiction-counselling services and other youth-related services.
