As Minister, I have no direct function in relation to the selection process of Garda Síochána trainees. Recruitment into the Garda Síochána is by way of open competition conducted by [1634] the Office of the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commissioners. If the applicant wishes to clarify his position, he should contact that office.
