[17697/96]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach A building project at the school mentioned by the Deputy, was included on the 1995 capital programme. The decision to include the school in the programme must be seen as the beginning of a process involving the preparation of sketch design drawings, planning permission and fire certification, contract documentation, tender and contract.

Contract documentation in respect of this project is currently being prepared. A decision on the timing of this process can only be taken after the contract documentation is complete and in the light of available financial resources. My Department has no record of having given an undertaking on the timing of the tender process.
