 104. Dr. O'Hanlon Information on Rory O'Hanlon Zoom on Rory O'Hanlon  asked the Minister for the Environment Information on Brendan Howlin Zoom on Brendan Howlin  when funding will be provided in respect of urban renewal projects in the Monaghan urban area in each of the years from 1996 to 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Ms McManus): Information on Liz McManus Zoom on Liz McManus Under the urban and village renewal sub-programme of the Operational Programme for Local Urban and Rural Development, grants are being made available to local authorities to carry out environmental upgrading works in towns and villages throughout the country. This year, Monaghan County Council was allocated total grants of £155,000, which includes £20,000 towards urban improvement projects in Clones. It is a matter for the county council to consider whether to include Monaghan town in its request for grants for the years 1997 to 1999.
