 131. Mr. Briscoe Information on Ben Briscoe Zoom on Ben Briscoe  asked the Minister for Education Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach  the action, if any, her Department has taken or proposes to take to help find a school place for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12. [9025/96]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach The selection and enrolment of pupils in secondary schools is, in the first insance the responsibility of individual schools. In cases where students have been removed from a second level school, my Department's inspectorate endeavours, by a process of consultation with school management, to have the pupil in question placed in the school in his/her locality. These types of cases, which by their nature are difficult to resolve, can take some time to be brought to a conclusion. My Department is continuing in its efforts to have an appropriate placement provided for this student.

I shall advise the Deputy of any developments.
