 124. Mr. Callely Information on Ivor Callely Zoom on Ivor Callely  asked the Minister for the Environment Information on Brendan Howlin Zoom on Brendan Howlin  the total revenue which accrued to his Department from driving test charges in 1995; the total cost of operating the driving test service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9287/96]

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): Information on Brendan Howlin Zoom on Brendan Howlin The overall cost of the driver testing service in 1995 is estimated at £3,296,000 while the fee income from tests was £3,369,000. The aim of [150] operating the service on a self-financing basis has been achieved over the past three years.
