119. Mr. Dempsey   asked the Minister for the Environment whether he will grant approval for a group sewerage scheme at Boris Great, Portlaoise, County Laois. [9249/96]
Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): Due to the scale and complexity of the works in question it was not feasible to carry out the project by way of a group scheme. Laois County Council have now submitted an outline proposal to extend the Portlaoise public sewerage scheme to serve the area. Having regard to the existing high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the proposal.
