 42. Mr. D. Ahern Information on Dermot Ahern Zoom on Dermot Ahern  asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Information on Dick Spring Zoom on Dick Spring  the result of his representations regarding the case of a person (details supplied) in County Louth currently being detained in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring): Information on Dick Spring Zoom on Dick Spring I am aware of the case referred to by the Deputy. I instructed my officials to make inquiries in the matter through the Anglo-Irish Secretariat. The British authorities have confirmed that the individual is currently on remand and that a date has yet to be set for his trial. He is, at present, legally required to appear in court every 28 days pending arraignment. I can assure the Deputy that this case will be kept under review.
