113. Mr. Sargent   asked the Minister for Education the increase, if any, in the intake to colleges of education she envisages for the academic year 1996-97 to provide for the current qualified substitute cover requirement. [6834/96]
Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Decisions have not yet been taken regarding the number of students to be admitted to the colleges of education for the 1996-97 academic year.
[1441] However, in reaching decisions in this matter, full cognisance will be taken of all pertinent factors which contribute to the supply of, and demand for, primary teachers.
