 111. Mr. Sargent Information on Trevor Sargent Zoom on Trevor Sargent  asked the Minister for Education Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach  the plans, if any, she has for the supervision of pupils when classes are split-up due to the unavailability of substitute cover for certified sick leave staff absences. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach The organisation of classes within schools, which includes a responsibility to ensure that classes are adequately supervised, is a matter for principal teachers. Similarly, the matter of employing substitute teachers rests with boards of management. The salary of all substitutes is, of course, paid by my Department.
