 69. Kathleen Lynch Information on Kathleen Lynch Zoom on Kathleen Lynch  asked the Minister for Education Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach  the progress, if any, that has been made towards encouraging fee paying schools to enter the free education system; her views on the future role of fee paying schools in Irish society; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach As outlined in the Programme for a Government of Renewal, the Government is committed to the encouragement of fee-paying schools to enter the free education scheme.

Progress on this matter will involve discussions with the managerial authorities and trustees of the schools concerned, through their representative associations.
