 54. Mr. M. McDowell Information on Michael McDowell Zoom on Michael McDowell  asked the Minister for Education Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach  the action, if any, her Department is taking to promote awareness of the White Paper on Foreign Policy in the country's schools. [6685/96]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Information on Niamh Bhreathnach Zoom on Niamh Bhreathnach It is of course a matter for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to determine the strategy to be used to publicise the White Paper including action in relation to the schools. However, I understand that, in line with Government policy to encourage debate, a sense of ownership and transparency, the Minister for Foreign Affairs has decided to circulate the White Paper on Foreign Policy as widely as possible, including sending it to all second-level schools, regional technical colleges, the Dublin Institute of Technology and the universities. My Department will co-operate fully with any strategy which is decided upon, in so far as it relates to the education sector.
