Mr. P. Byrne: Information on Patrick Byrne Zoom on Patrick Byrne asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has any right of appeal against Dublin Corporation's refusal to permit the erection of a letter-box at the location proposed by his Department in Sutton Park Estate; if he proposes to exercise it; if he will state the grounds on which permission has been withheld by the corporation; and what alternative arrangements are proposed for the provision of essential postal services in the area.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. J. Brennan): Information on Joseph Brennan Zoom on Joseph Brennan As the corporation's objection to the site proposed for the letter-box was a reasonable one, based on planning considerations, the question of appealing against the decision does not arise. I have no [410] doubt that in co-operation with the corporation a mutually acceptable alternative site will be found when the development of the estate is more advanced. In the meantime it is proposed to erect a temporary letter-box.
