Mr. Ryan:   asked the Minister for Education the precise date on which it is proposed to raise the school leaving age to 16 years.

Minister for Education (Mr. Colley):   The present proposals extend to raising the school-leaving age to 15 by 1970. The necessary planning on that basis is in progress. No decision in relation to the raising of the age to 16 has as yet been taken.
