Disadvantaged Areas Scheme Payments

 243. Deputy Michael Moynihan Information on Michael Moynihan Zoom on Michael Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney the position regarding the outstanding headage payment due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45032/12]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney): Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney As processing of the application concerned has recently been completed, payment will shortly issue to the nominated bank account of the person named.

Single Payment Scheme Applications

 244. Deputy John Browne Information on John Browne Zoom on John Browne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney when an application for a transfer of entitlements to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be approved. [45041/12]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney): Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney An application was received by my Department to transfer 9.04 single payment entitlements by way of Inheritance from a deceased herd owner to the person named. The necessary testamentary documents were provided and the application was processed and approved. A letter has issued on 12th October 2012 from my Department to the person named confirming the approval of the application.

Disadvantaged Areas Scheme Payments

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney): Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney An application under the 2012 Disadvantaged Areas Scheme was received from the person named on 16 April 2012. However, payment has not yet issued as, at this stage, it has not been possible to verify that one of the Terms and Conditions governing the 2012 Scheme, relating to maintaining an annual average of 0.15 livestock units per forage hectare declared, has been satisfied. Once it has been possible to verify that this requirement has been met, the case will be further processed with a view to payment at the earliest possible date thereafter.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney): Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney An application under the Single Payment Scheme was received from the person named on the 30th April 2012. In order to comply with EU requirements, the application concerned was one of a number which was selected for inspection. This inspection and related processes have now been completed and payment under the Single Payment Scheme will issue shortly.

Agri-Environment Options Scheme Payments

 249. Deputy John Browne Information on John Browne Zoom on John Browne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney if he will arrange early payment under the agri environment option scheme and other outstanding payments to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45156/12]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney): Information on Simon Coveney Zoom on Simon Coveney  The person named was approved for participation in the 2011 Agri-Environment Options Scheme with effect from 1st September 2011. Under the EU Regulations governing the Scheme and other area-based payment schemes, a comprehensive administrative check of all applications, including cross-checks with the Land Parcel Identification System, must be completed before any payment can issue. During these checks a query arose in respect of land parcels declared which required digitisation. This is being dealt with by my Department at present and once the digitisation process is completed, the application will be processed with a view to making payment in respect of 2011 at the earliest opportunity.

  The total paid to farmers who received more than €50,000 under the 2011 Single Payment Scheme amounted to €151,208,277.28. The total paid to farmers who received less than €50,000 under the 2011 Single Payment Scheme amounted to €1,085,167,567.87.
