(Speaker Continuing)

[Deputy Brendan Griffin: Information on Brendan Griffin Zoom on Brendan Griffin] While the report of the export group deals with the judgment in the A, B and C v. Ireland case, it does not deal with cases involving rape or incest. These are difficult areas to deal with but we must face up to the reality that it happens on a regular basis. I echo a recent observation made by a colleague, that had it not been for our proximity to the UK this matter would have been dealt with by our Parliament much earlier. It is not acceptable for the country to continue to bury its head in the sand with regard to this issue.

The Dáil adjourned at 4 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, 11 December 2012.
