Mr. O.J. Flanagan: Information on Oliver J. Flanagan Zoom on Oliver J. Flanagan asked the Minister for Education if he will give his approval to Laois Vocational Education Committee to invite tenders for the erection of a new vocational school in Mountrath, County Laois, in view of the urgent demand for it; and if his decision will be conveyed to the committee with the least possible delay.

Minister for Education (Mr. Colley): Information on George Colley Zoom on George Colley I expect to be able to authorise the County Laois Vocational Education Committee to have contract documents prepared for the proposed vocational school at Mountrath as soon as some minor points have been clarified.

I will not, however, be in a position to authorise the invitation of tenders in this and other cases pending the processing and full consideration of the results of the survey of post-primary facilities and needs in that area.
