Mr. Ryan: Information on Richie Ryan Zoom on Richie Ryan asked the Minister for Defence if, having regard to the considerable concern caused by reports of intentions not to call members of the Reserve for training, he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Hilliard): Information on Michael Hilliard Zoom on Michael Hilliard The matter is being considered in conjunction with the preparation of the Estimates for the Public Services for 1966-67 and a decision will be announced as soon as possible.

Mr. Ryan: Information on Richie Ryan Zoom on Richie Ryan The Minister is no doubt [203] aware that many members of the Reserve have unofficially been informed that they will not be needed for training this year. Is that the likely outcome of the present consideration ?

Mr. Hilliard: Information on Michael Hilliard Zoom on Michael Hilliard I have no knowledge of any unofficial information that has been conveyed to these people.

Mr. Ryan: Information on Richie Ryan Zoom on Richie Ryan May we take it, then, that these people will be called up ?
